90s Fashions Bouncin’ Back! Boo Ya!

If you’re old enough to remember the 90’s, then you know that you saw a huge evolution in “style” especially as you got older! I’m sure you started watching the “cool” shows like Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Boy Meets World, and Sister, Sister that related to the 90’s tween’s coming of age. Not only was the story innocent, but the clothes were too! Talk about layers upon layers upon layers. Mixing and matching of any kind of print with a splash of denim completed your outfit along with your snap bracelet and portable cassette player.

As you got into high school, you became part of the movement that was know as “Grunge Fashion,” where you rolled out of bed, put on the cleanest smelling ripped up jeans and ragged plaid shirt and headed for school… on your skateboard. Yes, we were all into the grunge style whether we like to admit it or not and definitely committed a crime of two… of fashion. Luckily, we moved on from the 90’s and the grunge fashion fad… or so we thought!

Yeah I know. If you’re a fashion trend follower, you would have noticed by now that the 90’s grunge fashion has reared its messy head on the runways of New York! It’s now a huge trend that so many designers are going for! I do have to say though, this time around the 90’s Grunge trend isn’t as dirty. Its a little more polished and refined with still lots of layering. Who knew that a fad of skipping school and not showering would come back into style!

If you want to get your own 90’s inspired look, its really easy. Like I said, layer it on! The more the better, even if your items don’t match! Start with a flannel plaid shirt like the Dickies WL541 Men’s Long Sleeve Brawny Shirt! Get it a size too big to get the baggy affect. Underneath, pair a basic top like the Ariat 9262 Women’s T-ssential Short Sleeve in Black. Wear it as a crop top or tucked in, both very 90’s. Next, throw on some basic distressed jeans like the Ariat 10858 Women’s Amber Grace Jean in Raven and you can even rip more holes in them, if you so desire to be grungier. Nothing says “90’s Grunge” like big badass boots! The Durango RD0574 Women’s Savannah Engineer 14-inch Boot in Bourbon has the perfect amount of grunge punk with its awesome buckle details. Lastly, keep your hair messy, don’t even touch it, and put on the Carhartt WA060 Women’s Embroidered ‘C’ Knit Hat!

You’ve now officially been transported back to a time of Rev Run’s music, playing Sega, and watching Michael Jordan dunk one after the other. The 90’s are back!
