The temperature is dropping, the kiddos are going back to school, and Labor Day weekend is approaching. Yep, its the last days of summer and you can’t help but feel a little sad. Luckily, you have one more weekend to soak up every bit of warmth the summer has to offer before fall and winter settle in. Since it may be the last pleasant weekend of the year, you’ve got to take advantage of it and get outside! Enjoy the last days of Summer with the Top 5 Things to do for Labor Day weekend!
1. Go on a Hike
The weather is still nice, so it’s the best time to go on a hike this weekend! Find one that challenges you the most because this will be the last time you can do it for a while. Get your sweat on and breathe in that good old fresh mountain air!
2. Go Floating
If you’ve never been or heard of floating, you’re seriously missing out! Its easy–just grab a tube and float down your local river. Such a fun relaxing summer activity that I live for as soon as it heats up. If you’ve never been, this weekend is your chance to try it out!
3. Have a Picnic/ BBQ
There’s nothing like the smell of a BBQ to bring all the goodness that is summer to life. Since it’s going to be cold soon, take advantage of the sunny days and go out to your local park and have a BBQ picnic! Relax under the trees, throw a few Frisbees, and do some straight up grillin’!
4. Go to an Outside Concert
Festival season is just winding down so catch the last of the summer concert series this weekend! Whether it’s a local band or a major tour, listening to some music on a warm breezy night is the best way to enjoy summer. Just put a corn dog in one hand and a cold one in the other and enjoy!
5. One Last Camping Trip
Labor Day holds some of the best memories of camping for me! It’s just warm enough to still go swimming, but cool enough at night to huddle around the campfire roasting marshmallows. Take the weekend to spend it in the great outdoors with your family before everyone gets too busy. One last trip will get you ready for the year!
